How Can You Help Your Child Succeed and Have Fun In PE?
1. Know when your child has PE and ensure they wear athletic shoes to school or bring them. I want them to stay safe in PE.
2. Encourage your child to try new things and have a good attitude. Sometimes they will like what we are doing in PE and sometimes they will not. Physical Education is a wide variety of activities and movements. They will be learning more about this in the 1st week of PE. It is not just sports. I want them to learn to be competent movers so that they feel comfortable joining any activity that keeps them moving.

Workout Wednesdays
Every Wednesday is Workout Wednesday. This is the day students learn related concepts. We discuss ways to tell if we are getting our heart rates up. We also wear heart rate monitors for some of the workouts. These have not worked as well this year (they are getting old and well...technology). When they wear them, you should receive an email home with their data from the day. If you ever have any questions about the email, please do not hesitate to reach out. You may get an email home on a day when your child is not in school. Sometimes if I have a monitor that is not working, I will give the monitor assigned to an absent student to the student without one, just so that as many students can use them as possible.
